todays post is about happiness and life.

weird how having a terrible chem paper has this kinda effect on me. so heres three of mings thoughts for the day.

1. We all live with the objective of being happy; our lives are all different and yet the same.

doesnt that totally embody the 'same same, but different!' theory? actually no matter how diverse our lives look, we're all seeking one thing, and we're all gonna end up in the same place. life is a journey, and even though there are many routes, the destination is the same.

2. Happiness belongs to the self-sufficient

now, that is true wisdom. haha i finally realized that actually we cant find happiness by looking around us. we can only find happiness within us. its not so much a state of things, its more a state of mind. we can be in a horrible situation and still find it within us to be happy and smile. we can be in a delightful situation but still grumble that happiness is still eluding us. looking for happiness around ourselves is futile, true happiness, i think, comes from being at peace with ourselves, with God, and with the rest of the world. and i think thats why happiness is such a quest. because we find it hard to be at peace with ourselves in the beginning. like kicking ourselves after e paper coz we left so much blank, coz we didnt write what we actually knew, etc. we are always blaming ourselves and other people so much so that its hard to find it within ourselves to be happy. we cant depend on people for our own happiness, nor on our successes or failures. although it feels damn shitty to fail, succeeding gives us joy for that short period of time only. how long can you be happy just coz u succeeded in getting 10 As for A levels? you can get only 1 A for A levels and still be the happiest person on earth. really, i think its all a state of mind. we think we'll be happy if we get this or that or if this or that happens but how often is it that when it actually happens, when we finally get what we wanted, that we realized we're actually in the same state as before? ie, our happiness has not increased or decreased because of the thing? maybe for that moment, you were happy. but i think thats more like joy and not happiness. i think real happiness wont be so fleeting.

i think just coz As is over, just coz we all get 10 As, its not gonna make us happy. sure, our hard work paid off and thats one more obstacle we crossed. but true happiness, is a state of mind. it comes with recognition of some things and some habits that we have to learn. we are still gonna be in this same state of mind if we dont do anything about it nxt yr. except for maybe alot less chemistry and all occupying our brain space. haha.

3. Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass. Its about learning to dance in the rain.

this is my fav quote of all time man. haha. coz it reminds me that we shldnt keep postponing the time that we're gonna live, that we're gonna be happy. everyones waiting for As to be over so they can do stuff. but just coz As is coming doesnt mean we shld put life on hold and mug away right. this is our life. for now la. but there'll never come the time when we dont have sth else to do, another obstacle to cross. so we shld stop looking ahead and start being happy NOW. life is about obstacles, one after another, anyway. after As theres still uni, then work, etc. its never gonna end. you think it'll end when we retire? haha i think we're never gonna retire. by the time we get old the retirement age wld prob have hit like 80 or more and we'll be working to our deathbeds. haha. i think learning to keep being happy while struggling, is the key to life.

and really, i dont think its the cure to everything.
